2019-08-09

On August 2nd, Matsushita Electric held the award ceremony for the Global Competition for Children's Eyes (KWN) in Tokyo. This year, Beijing Haidian Wanquan Primary School from China won the [Best Popularity Award" for its [fatal support" of microfilm works. This year's primary and secondary school annual awards were won by the work "Ordinary Days" from Mwenge Mshindo Primary School in Tanzania and "Sport For Living (Boxing For Life)" from Ammartpanichnukul School in Thailand.

In 1989, the KWN event was first launched in the United States and has been in operation for 30 years with nearly 190,000 students and their teachers. As one of the important projects of Panasonic's next-generation education support activities, KWN encourages primary and secondary school students to investigate development issues such as local society and global environment, and independently complete the production of 5-minute micro-movie works. Through the whole process, cultivate the creativity of young people and enhance their social awareness and teamwork ability. In China, KWN activities began in 2005. Up to now, nearly 40 schools in Beijing and Shanghai, and about 5,000 students and teachers participated in the event. In the 14 years of China's development, a series of activities such as film technology classes, exchanges with Olympic champions, and visits to film museums were held. In 2010, 2012, 2013, and 2015, they won four global single awards. And won the annual award in 2017.

This year's KWN event was held in 12 countries and regions around the world. China won the Best Popularity Award of 2019 for its "fatal support" by Beijing Quandian Wanquan Primary School. The award was voted by students from participating countries. "Fatal support" tells the sadness and difficulty in competitive aerobics training, shows the hard training of athletes under the stage, and the spirit of team winning in competitive sports, never give up.

This year, a total of 18 works from the first place in each country were selected for the global competition. These micro-movie works were created from the children's own perspective and described various problems in the real world of children living in different societies, such as: environmental protection, Poverty, school, family, disabled, sick, and sports.

The KWN Global Summit 2019 was held in Tokyo, Japan from July 31st to August 2nd. There were 315 primary and secondary schools this year, and more than 3,500 people participated in the application. At the awards ceremony on August 2, five individual awards including the Best Popularity Award and the Best Teamwork Award were announced and awarded, and the annual award was presented. At the KWN Global Summit in 2019, two small contestants from China had a full exchange with children from other countries, and showed the Chinese style, exchanged business cards, and exchanged souvenirs. I believe this event is The opportunity will be to plant the seeds of multicultural understanding and symbiosis in their hearts and to feed back the society in the future.

In the future, Panasonic will continue to support the development of children and adolescents through KWN and other educational support activities, so that they can demonstrate all their skills and potentials and work hard for their dreams and future.
